Find Simpson County Busted Mugshots

The Simpson County Detention Center maintains the live custody route, while the sheriff handles formal record requests and the court file shows what happened after the arrest. Search the custody route first with a full name and an estimated booking date. Someone just arrested may not appear until booking is complete, and a person who bonded out may no longer be on the current list. Send the sheriff a formal request for a photo the roster omits. That live custody route, backed by the sheriff's records request, is the source of Simpson County busted mugshots.

Simpson County Busted Mugshot Records

Booking starts in Franklin, at the Simpson County Detention Center. An officer brings someone in. The jail opens a file. Inside, you may find the booking photo, the charge as written at intake, bond details, custody dates, and the arresting agency. Several agencies work this county. So the sheriff did not necessarily make the arrest. Franklin Police and Kentucky State Police book people here too.

Want to look someone up? The official detention center posts a current inmate list with charges and bond information. Photos are another matter. Kentucky's retention schedule allows photos in the internal inmate file. But an internal file and a public roster are different things. Search the roster first. If no picture appears, contact the jail or records custodian with the name and booking date.

Simpson County Booking Record Fields

The live roster and the full jail file do different jobs. One shows who is in custody right now. The other holds far more detail, though open-records exemptions still apply. Ask for the specific record you need rather than expecting everything on one screen.

FieldWhat it means
NameThe booking name used by the jail; confirm its spelling.
Booking dateThe date custody began, which can differ from the arrest date.
Arresting agencyThe office identified as responsible for the arrest.
Charge as bookedThe alleged offense at intake, not a conviction.
BondThe amount and conditions then reported, subject to court change.
Release dateThe recorded end of that custody episode, when available.
Booking photographAn image may exist even when portal display is unconfirmed.
Court informationA case number or date for locating the separate court file.

Deeper in the file, you might find property receipts, incident reports, court papers, or disciplinary notes. Some of it stays private. Juvenile material, mental-health records, sealed files, and active investigative content can all be withheld by law.

Note: A booking date, arrest date, and court filing date can differ, so give all known dates in a request.

Request Simpson County Busted Records

Ready to make a request? The Simpson County Sheriff's records page has the local form and mailing route. Include the full name and an approximate arrest date. Name the arresting agency if you know it. List each item you want separately, because an arrest-report request does not automatically bring the booking photo or the final court outcome.

  1. Complete and sign the form linked by the sheriff.
  2. Ask separately for the arrest report, booking record, releasable booking photograph, bond data, and release record.
  3. Mail it to 203 E. Kentucky St., Franklin, KY 42134, or PO Box 434, Franklin, KY 42135.
  4. Ask the custodian to identify withheld parts and cite the legal basis.
  5. Keep the response and fee estimate; use the Circuit Court Clerk for the case file.

Fees are posted, so expect to pay them. The sheriff charges $5 for a complete police report and 10 cents per miscellaneous page. A photo disc, audio disc, video disc, or USB drive runs $15. Postage varies. There is no separate mugshot fee and no posted production deadline. Under KRS 61.880, the office generally owes you a written determination within five working days, weekends and legal holidays excluded. That clock covers the response only. It does not force the records out the door on the same schedule. Current instructions appear on the sheriff records source.

Note: the posted route and fees tell you how to ask, not whether any particular photo will be released.

When Simpson County Bond Appears

Simpson County has no booking-feed schedule. It does share one helpful detail. The jail's bond page says Pretrial Services interviews every inmate within 24 hours of booking. Bond amounts and conditions usually come back by 1:00 p.m. daily. So a brand-new entry may show a charge while bond information is still catching up.

None of this is a promise about roster updates. An arrest, intake, the interview, court action, and the portal refresh are separate steps. Release can happen fast, too. If a name is missing or bond is blank, call 270-586-5351 and mention the time you searched.

Why is bond missing after an arrest? Intake or the Pretrial interview may still be in progress, or a court order may not have reached the jail yet. Call the jail to verify.

Kentucky Busted Mugshot Law

Open-records access in Kentucky starts with KRS 61.872. Exemptions can still close off parts of a jail file. A custodian may redact investigative, juvenile, protected, or sealed information. The legal basis for each redaction should be explained.

Then there is KRS 61.8746. It targets commercial publication of booking photos when removal or continued posting depends on payment. The statute offers a court remedy on its own terms. It does not force agencies to erase every accurate photo on demand. It is no reason to pay a removal vendor either. The official statute page carries the full text.

Kentucky statute governing Simpson County booking photograph publication

Think of that statute as a shield against pay-to-remove schemes. Correction paths through agencies, courts, and free site policies are separate matters. Start with the office that created the record. Attach a signed expungement or sealing order when one exists. RecentlyBooked and Mugshots.com both publish free correction or record-maintenance policies for stated grounds. Busted Newspaper lists a contact route, but no verified free removal policy was found. Arrests.org showed no clear free policy either. These are private choices, not court orders. Never pay anyone who promises to erase a public record.

Note: Correct the source first, then use an official search-engine outdated-content tool if an old snippet remains.

Withheld Simpson County Booking Photos

A missing photo does not mean no booking happened. The County Jailer schedule flags certain inmate files as restricted. The citations listed are KRS 197.025, KRS 610.320, and KRS 610.340. Juvenile records get special handling. Mental-inquest material is restricted too. An active investigation can also hold up release.

Sealing or expungement can change what a search returns. The Kentucky Court of Justice expungement page has the official forms and certification. Eligibility depends on the charge, the outcome, timing, and other conditions. One caveat remains. An old private copy may linger even after the official file changes.

Older Simpson County Busted Records

The live roster only shows who is in custody right now. It is not an archive. Kentucky's schedule from March 2025 directs that the jail register and inmate file be destroyed roughly five years after release. The inmate file may hold a photo. A non-evidentiary booking recording might last just 30 days. Pending litigation, an active investigation, an evidence hold, or an open request can stretch any of those periods.

Sheriff and law-enforcement series run on different schedules. Some felony investigation and criminal-history files survive far longer than jail material. So don't assume every Simpson County busted photo has the same shelf life. Ask the records custodian which series applies and what release-date trigger starts the clock.

For anything older, the Kentucky archives request route is the way in. KDLA makes no promise of a Simpson mugshot collection. Its research service asks for four to six weeks and charges a $20 fee in-state or $25 out-of-state, nonrefundable either way. A newspaper archive might surface an old Police Beat item, though a clipping alone never proves the jail photo still exists.

Find Simpson County Busted Mugshots

The right official path depends on custody status. Someone held right now means the jail. For a person already released, go to the records custodian for the file. State custody points to KOOL. Court records show how the case ended.

  1. Start at the jail home and follow its Current Inmate List link.
  2. Check after intake and record the search time, charge, bond, and custody statement.
  3. If absent, ask about release, transfer, incomplete intake, another facility, or restrictions.
  4. Use the sheriff request for a record or photo no longer shown.
  5. Check KOOL, court, BOP, or ICE only when that custody category applies.

Simpson County has no verified official feed for same-day, 48-hour, 72-hour, weekly, or archived bookings. Missing entries happen for many reasons. Incomplete intake, a release, a transfer, another facility, or a restriction could each explain the gap.

Simpson County Busted Jail Roster

The Cadmus portal is the current-detainee interface the jail links to. Its static page names charges and bond as the list's purpose. Nothing more. It says nothing about photos, search fields, release history, update timing, or an archive window. Trust only the controls you see when the portal loads live.

Simpson County Roster Link Changed

The jail home now points to Cadmus. The county detention page still carries an older eJail address. That domain failed to resolve in the August 23, 2026 audit, so treat it as a stale leftover rather than a second feed. Start from the jail home page each time. Vendor links can swap without notice. A portal error never means nobody is in custody. If Cadmus fails, call the detention center directly or file a formal records request.

Note: Save the search date and time because a current entry can change after bond, transfer, or release.

Recent Simpson County Busted Bookings

No official same-day or multi-day booking log turned up for Simpson County. The roster shows who is held now. It does not cover everyone booked across a date range. Franklin Police news, the Franklin Favorite Police Beat, and WBKO stories offer selected coverage only. None is a complete feed. For a same-day arrest, check after intake and call the jail if the name is absent. For a past week or month, submit a date-bounded request. The 24-hour interview detail describes bond work, not portal publication.

Does Simpson County publish a 72-hour booking list? No verified official list exists. Use the current roster, call the jail to verify, and fall back on a records request.

Where Simpson County Mugshots Appear

Start with official sources every time. Private archives can help track down older postings. Just remember they can go stale or keep listings alive long after a release.

Busted Newspaper, RecentlyBooked, Mugshots.com, Arrests.orgVariesUnofficial and possibly stale.

RecentlyBooked advertises a view of roughly the last 30 days. Busted Newspaper holds a large county archive. Mugshots.com offers year filters. Arrests.org showed no Simpson results in the captured view, and Mugshots.zone had no verified local page. None of these sites establishes current custody.

Simpson County Custody Alerts

Kentucky VINE is the official route for custody-change alerts. It sends phone or email notices from participating systems. It is not a photo source or an arrest log. No sheriff booking app was located. JailFunds comes up only for video visits and communications. Franklin Police posts through news and social channels, but no account promises a full daily booking feed.

VINE and the jail roster answer two different questions. The roster is a direct snapshot of people in county custody at the moment of the search. VINE exists to send notice of a custody event, such as release or transfer, once data reaches the participating notification system. Any notice should still be checked against the jail or the receiving agency. The Simpson jail contact page and the current Kentucky VINE page showed different phone numbers, so the live VINELink interface is the safer starting point for registration. That number discrepancy is worth knowing rather than papering over by picking one without verification.

Simpson County Booking Status Paths

One search cannot answer every custody question. Match the source to the person's stage.

Just arrested
Ask the arresting agency or jail because intake may be incomplete.
County custody
Use the current inmate list for charges and bond.
Released
Request the record because the live entry may be gone.
State custody
Use KOOL for a state profile and possible offender photo.
Federal or ICE custody
Use the appropriate federal locator, not the county roster.

KOOL offers several search options. You can search by name, alias, photos-only mode, DOC or PID number, supervision, location, and other fields. Its FAQ says data refreshes four times daily. A new photo can take several days after state intake. Note that this timing applies to state custody, not Simpson jail bookings.

Simpson County Arrest Court Handoff

Booking is only the front door. What follows might be an arraignment, a bond review, motions, a plea, or a trial. Sentencing can follow too. The courthouse, not the jail, holds that part of the record.

The Simpson County Justice Center houses the Circuit Court Clerk. KYeCourts posts basic case facts online. The KCOJ docket can help you pin down a hearing date, though it flags itself as unofficial. Before calling the clerk, write down the exact name spelling, the case number, the division, and the next date shown. Ask the court that heard the matter for the official file. The Administrative Office of the Courts does not store each county's records. Older files may sit with the clerk, a state records facility, or KDLA. Some may have passed a retention deadline. None of this replaces the jail for a same-day custody check.

Federal cases run on a different track. The BOP holds sentenced inmates. USMS handles pretrial custody through contract jails, and ICE runs its own locator. No federal system offers a Simpson booking-photo stream.

Check the disposition: Charges may be changed, reduced, or dismissed. A roster, story, or private archive is not proof of conviction.

Simpson County Booking Terms

These terms separate the jail event from the court record.

Booking
Jail intake that creates the custody record and may include a photo.
Bond
Release conditions before the case ends.
Arraignment
An early court appearance about charges and rights.
Disposition
The recorded outcome, such as dismissal, plea, acquittal, or conviction.
Expungement
A court process for qualifying records under Kentucky law.

Franklin Busted Mugshots

Franklin is the one incorporated city on the Simpson County map. Its police department handles arrests inside city limits, though booking happens at the Simpson County Detention Center rather than a municipal lockup. On the police website you can request reports and read local news. What you won't find there is a daily arrest log or any verified mugshot roster.

The Franklin Busted Mugshots page traces that path from city police to county jail. Pull incident details from Franklin Police. Check custody status on the county roster. Court outcomes live with the clerk.
